WholeSOULme Yoga

(pronounced “wholesome” yoga)

I don’t believe that yoga is defined by being able to touch your toes, twisting into a pretzel or complex arm balances.

IT IS SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT.

Yoga is about connecting with the body and the breath to:

  • cultivate discernment

  • practice mindfulnness

  • develop interoception skills

  • promote self-regulation

  • build confidence & self esteem

  • regulate the nervous system

  • become more aware

  • to slow down

Yoga has proven to be a staple tool in my mental health resource kit and I hope that it can be pillar you lean on as well. My hope is not that you can touch your tose at the end of class, but that you leave class feeling connected, strong, more aware and at ease.

I specialize in offering gentle slow flowing yoga classes that provide alignment based and breath awareness cues to foster a space where students can connect interospectively. I focus on providing a space for students to move freely, without judgement, in ways that feel good for their body, because they know their body best!

ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME!

Whether you have never stepped on your mat, or you are an avid yogi, everyone is welcome! I provide lots of modification options to ensure the pose feels good in all bodies regardless of your experience level.

Although I LOVE the challenge and heat of vinyasa yoga, I truly believe there is beauty in stillness and slowing down. It’s in these moments that provide a small window where you can peer into your body and spirit to gain a deeper connection to your needs, wants, desires and true self. We spend so much of our day focusing on the outside world, seeking answers that we believe are outside of us; when really.. we have all the answers we need within us.

Providing students  with a safe space for 60 minutes where they can slow down, tune in and tune out the world is such an honour. 

I offer Yin Yoga, Hatha Yoga & Gentle/Slow Flow/Mindfulness Yoga in the following formats:

GROUP YOGA
(i.e. virtual monthly offerings, studio classes)

PRIVATE YOGA
(i.e. one on one, small group, group)

SPECIAL EVENT YOGA
(i.e. girls weekends, bachelorettes, birthdays etc)

RETREATS & WORKSHOPS

MONTHLY VIRTUAL GROUP YOGA CLASSES

These classes are offered with the intention of bringing movement & mindfulness to folks without . Classes are offered virtually, through ZOOM, on a monthly basis at a low cost to continue to my mission of providing accessible services to folks.

For the winter months (December - March) I offer combination classes that incorporate 30 minutes of Yin Yoga & 30 minutes of Yang yoga (gentle/slow flow yoga) on the following days:

  • 1 (one) Tuesday evening at 7:00PM (EST) /month

  • 1 (one) Saturday morning at 10:00AM (EST) / month

Yin Yoga is unique from Hatha yoga classes in that in targets connective tissues (fascia, tendons, ligaments) as opposed to large muscle groups. It uses body weight & gravity to get you into the pose, while also incorporating yoga props to ensure you are supported. As with all yoga, Yin yoga is about finding balance between stepping outside of your comfort zone, but not going so far as to feed the ego. What I love about Yin yoga is that the poses are held for long periods of time (3-10 minutes). This gives students time to sink into the deep nourishing benefits of each shape, something that is not offered in a traditional yoga class.

Equipment needed for Yin-Yang Yoga Classes:

  • 1 yoga mat

  • 2 yoga blocks (or a stack of books, soup cans — something that can withstand some of your body weight)

  • 1 yoga strap (or a towel, blanket, workout band etc)

  • 1 bolster (or a longer pillow)

  • 1-2 blankets
